Have you always wanted to be artsy but just didn't think you had any artistic ability? Are you the person that always asks, is art a talent or a skill? Well think again because art is just a question mark, it can be anything, as long as it means something. Artistic ability is a combination of both talent and skill. Live less out of habit and more out of intent.
You don’t have to be an artist to be creative, but you can become a better artist when you are more creative What’s awesome is when you let yourself be creative the more you think and act creatively, the more creative you become. Now a lot of people confuse artistic abilities and creative abilities. Artistic ability includes skills and talent to create fine works of art: painting, drawing, sculpting, musical composition, etc. Creativity ability is the skill and talent to use our imagination to create and solve.
Developing your artistic abilities requires persistence and don’t expect to produce a masterpiece at your first attempt. You don’t have to be perfect on your first try, many artists including myself spent years perfecting their craft. Practice will help you master techniques and improve your efforts. It's like learning a language; in order to advance, you have to practice regularly. When you appreciate art for what it is you can learn to cultivate your artistic appreciation, and use that to work on enhancing your own skills. When you do find your artistic abilities, don’t brag about yourself, let others praise you.
Typically a lot of people think art is either drawing, painting, and arts and craft, but there are many other forms of art. Art can be performing arts like music, dance, theatre, etc. If you love to cook or bake that is also an art called culinary arts. If you find technology pretty easy and you have some abilities with graphic design, that can be your art. As I said, art can be just about anything. Art is for everybody, and you can enjoy it simply for its own.
Your artistic abilities are there to be discovered. Experiment with them all and discover what your artistic ability is. Have fun with it!
